Why Recruiting needs Data

Human Resources Manager Magazine column part 2

Talentsconnect CEO and co-founder Robin Sudermann regularly writes about the recruiting of the future in his column “A Question of Attitude” at Human Resources Manager Magazine. This issue is about why data-based recruiting is one of the most important success factors for business success. It can help make informed decisions about marketing channels, campaigns, and budget allocation.

An online shop that does not collect any information about the behavior of users? A social media strategy that isn't checked for effectiveness? That is unthinkable. This data is worth its weight in gold, it provides transparency and sets the course. If companies do not include data in their work, they run the risk of working blindly past their target groups and their needs. Sales, especially e-commerce, have understood this for years. What works for companies there, however, is often still missing in recruiting. Strangely enough, HR departments often rely on suitable candidates to stumble across job advertisements as if by chance. True to the motto Post and Pray, i.e. “just get out with the job ad, someone suitable will apply at some point.” The result: jobs that attract the wrong people with false or outdated promises.

You will find out which key figures are really important and what added value data offers in recruiting here.
